Experience exchange program in Prague, Czech Republic

The members of working group to develop “code on processing construction waste” have participated the “Experience exchange program” on 1st -5th of April in Prague, Czech Republic in order to learn from the best experience of Waste management in Czech Republic within the project “Supporting efficiency and clean production of construction sector in Mongolia”. During the 5 days experience exchange program, the total 14 members of working group visited state and private organization and recycling plants for glass, plastic, construction waste, natural waste and so on.a location where construction waste is gathered.

The participants say that we understood that it is important for our country to advertise the importance of waste sorting while visiting different plants. The Czech Republic pays extra attention to sorting in order to reduce waste and sorted waste is turned into valuable raw material that protects natural nonrenewable resources and helps to reduce environmental pollution. Especially, it’s clear from each site that the implementation of these tasks is to ensure effective laws, rules and regulations. It also contributes to develop the sector if the government gives some incentives for waste and work tightly with private sector. Construction waste not only is bigger in size but also contains hazardous substance, hence there are difficulties in removal and disposal. However, sorting can solve these difficulties. So that the member of working group agreed to include sorting of construction waste into “code on processing construction waste”.

As a result of the experience exchange program, they planned to include innovate ideas learned from the program into the code and the Ministry of Construction and Urban Development will consider establishing
