Mongolia's Ninth National Youth Development Forum was organised by Caritas Czech Republic

In 1995, the United Nations General Assembly approved the “World Programme of Action for Youth" and celebrated the "International Youth Day" on August 12th of every year in order to draw the attention of the world, country leaders, and the public to youth development, protection and participation.

This year, the theme of the International Youth Day was "Environmentally Friendly Green Skills of Youth: To Create a Friendly World".

Since 2003, our country has celebrated Youth Day on August 25th every year as Mongolian Youth Day, and it has been a tradition to organise monthly youth development campaigns throughout the country.

Within this activity, "Ninth National Youth Development Forum" was organised by the Government of Mongolia, the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, the Department of Family, Children and Youth Development, the Mongolian Youth Alliance NGO and other civil society organisations under the theme "Youth creative participation for creating a society that respects human rights” on 25th of August, 2023 at the Parliament of Mongolia. And 800 young people representing various fields attended the forum.

The forum was co-organised by the United Nations Population Fund, the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund and the European Union's "All for YOUth, YOUth for All” project’s implementers, Caritas Czech Republic, Center for Citizenship Education.

The forum’s goal was to ensure the well-being of Mongolian people with the participation of young people with the support of civil society, the private sector, the government and international organisations. The preliminary discussions leading up to the conference were held between August 03-17th, 2023 at the capital, province and district level.

The opinions and conclusions from the above sub-discussions are included in the document to be discussed at the "Ninth National Youth Development Forum".
