Successful Completion of Study Tour on SPRIM Project

Essen, Germany – Caritas Czech Republic in Mongolia (CCR), in collaboration with the European Union's SWITCH-Asia programme and, is delighted to announce the successful conclusion of the study tour for the "Sustainable Plastic Recycling in Mongolia" project. This initiative, aimed at promoting sustainable production and consumption patterns in Mongolia through effective waste management, recently organised a study tour to Europe for representatives of plastic recycling micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).

The study tour, which took place from June 10, 2023, to June 17, 2023, proved to be highly successful in achieving its objectives. Nine representatives from targeted plastic recycling MSMEs had the opportunity to learn firsthand about successful strategies for promoting recycled plastic products and gain valuable insights from European plastic recycling companies. The study tour included meetings with industry experts, visits to recycling facilities, and participation in the "Plastics Recycling World Expo" in Europe.

The participating companies from Mongolia's recycled plastics industry were as follows: Tsetsuuh Trade, Multipack, Hev Hashmal Huvantsar, TML, Metroplast, and Plastic Center. Their active engagement during the study tour contributed significantly to the overall success of the program.

During the study tour, participants acquired practical advice from European plastic recycling companies and gained in-depth knowledge of the latest innovations in the sector. They also prepared a comprehensive report detailing their findings and formulated plans to disseminate their newfound knowledge among colleagues and stakeholders. As a follow-up, each participant will organise a seminar to share their experiences and insights with others.

The study tour facilitated the updating of marketing strategies and plans for the participating MSMEs. Following the implementation of the updated strategies, participants will report on their progress, and CCR will continue to provide support and guidance to ensure the sustained growth of the recycled plastic product market.
