Caritas Czech Republic (CCR) in Mongolia has co-organized Youth Voices summit 2019 on 15th -16th of June, 2019 in the Blue sky tower under the “Improving resource-efficiency and cleaner production in the Mongolian construction sector through materials recovery” project. The Youth Voices summit consisted of few paneled discussions and side events. The CCR was mainly responsible for the 3R (reduce, reuse and recycle) side event: “3R in Mongolia - Waste to Wealth” in order to increase public awareness about 3R, recycling sector and opportunities to reduce and reuse them, and to promote the Waste management project to the youth.
The CCR has successfully gathered 262 participants for the side event in which there are 3 sections: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. In each part, different SMEs and individuals displayed their best experience, products and they also presented during the side event. In the recycling part, 11 recycling companies were displayed under CCR and CDW based products were displayed as well. There were fun games where participants can learn more about recycling while playing. Also commitment board was placed in which participants would sign their names in the sense that they are committed in 3Rs in Mongolia. All the participants were encouraged to bring 3 recyclable wastes and put them into the respective bins and get 1 reusable water bottle in exchange. Furthermore, the online quiz was organized from CCR side at the end of each day, to test and award the participants learning from the event. In total over 50 participants attended in the quiz and CCR awarded 2 winners who have gathered more information on Recycling part.
There were participants from government organizations, countryside, different provinces, LGBTQ community and disabled participants. For the participants with disability, appropriate translation was provided to ensure equal opportunity for each participant.
