Czech Festival Celebrates Milestones with Significant Sustainable Project Impact
The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Mongolia successfully organised the Czech Festival on June 8 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the accession to the European Union and the 25th anniversary of the accession to NATO. On this day, the square outside the Czech Embassy became an open street for the public, and the city's citizens spent the whole day celebrating Czech culture and products, visiting the tents of organizations operating from the Czech Republic to Mongolia.
During the opening ceremony, Jana Zilkova, resident representative of Caritas Czech Republic, introduced the organization's activities since 2006 and invited the festival participants to visit the organization's tent with their families and familiarize themselves with the Sustainable plastic recycling in Mongolia project and the Switching on Green Economy projects.
On this day, our tents welcomed over 400 enthusiastic visitors, eager to explore the latest research and articles related to our projects. Approximately 150 children and young people actively participated in the fun games and contests, demonstrating their keen interest in waste sorting, plastic understanding, and the circular economy.
Deniz from Turkey, who visited our tent during the festival, said, "I am happy that a significant and timely project on plastic waste is being implemented in Mongolia. I wish you success in this valuable work." Enkhtsetseg, a city citizen, said, "Many people in Ulaanbaatar are eager to sort their garbage, but there is a risk that the separated garbage will mix again in the town." Caritas Czech Republic gave recommendations on how to sort waste at the level of citizens and organizations and provided the latest publications and research.
