A Catalyst for New Regulation on Construction Demolition Waste (CDW) Management in Mongolia

On 27 February 2020, a new regulation consisting of the Waste Law, the Construction Law and applicable laws has been enacted to improve the management and structure of construction and demolition waste, minimise its negative impacts on the environment and human health, prevent potential hazards and risks, and strengthen Mongolia’s circular economy through the promotion of sustainable production and consumption practices to improve waste management.

Decision Makers' seminar II

Caritas Czech Republic (CCR) organized Decision makers’ seminar, gathering representatives from all stakeholders of Construction Development Waste (CDW) sector in Mongolia. During the seminar CCR gave them information on update and future activities of the project, aggregates from CDW and its usage in concrete and Technical requirements for recycled from CD waste. Participants and project team had open discussion on the draft of the CDW management procedure.

Business to Business event was organized

Caritas Czech Republic has organized the Business to Business event together with the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Mongolian Sustainable Finance Association. The objective of the event is to provide information on sustainable financing, production, eco loans, waste and economic relations to construction material producing Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and companies. Furthermore, it aims to facilitate communication and promote collaboration among financial organization and SMEs and companies, by providing opportunity for open discussion and debate.

Barilga Expo - 2019

Under the waste management project, Caritas Czech Republic (CCR) in Mongolia has successfully participated and presented the project in one of the biggest annual fairs “Barilga Expo-2019” between 6 and 8 September, 2019. Expo was divided into 3 different themes: the Sponsors, Apartment buildings, and Construction material producers.

EU day Mongolia took place

On the occasion of the 30th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and European Union, the Delegation of the European Union to Mongolia hosted the EU day Mongolia on May 26 at the Sukhbaatar square. The event provided the public with an opportunity to get to know the EU member states through their tradition and culture, receive detailed information and advice on studying and travelling in the countries and getting Schengen visa, visit a trade fair of EU countries' entities, as well as to enjoy the countries’ cuisine and art performances. Moreover, during the event, information was given on over 20 EU-funded projects being implemented in Mongolia.
