What we do

We help where we are needed. We provide immediate humanitarian aid to people affected by war or natural disaster. As part of our development cooperation, we help people to cut loose and make a living. We focus on the development of health care and social protection as well as  rural development and environmental protection and actively work on systemic changes in Mongolia.

Mongolia – beautiful and unique nature, huge grasslands, nomads and typical yurts. Lately, there have also been unfortunately another words to describe the country – quick devastation of the environment. Mongolia is starting to get flooded with trash and the situation is the worst especially in the famous grasslands. Mijidsuren from our mission in Mongolia will tell us how is Caritas helping to protect local nature.

Mongolia is Helping Communities Reduce Plastic Pollution by Taking Action On Waste

Waste management is a key issue in Mongolia due to the intense urbanisation, industrialisation and increasing consumption of packaged products over the last decade. Even though more than half of Mongolia’s population lives in the capital city of Ulaanbaatar, currently there is no consolidated waste management system for plastic waste (collection, segregation, transport and proper standards) in the city and effective recycling practices are missing.

Caritas Czech Republic in Mongolia promotes volunteering among Mongolian youth

Mongolia is a country of young people. Young people aged 15-34 comprise Mongolia’s largest demographic and more than one-third of the population. Under the financial support of the European Union and the Canada fund, Caritas Czech Republic, Mongolian Youth Council and Center of Citizenship Education have been working on youth development and empowerment in Mongolia. Within the framework of the “All for YOUth, YOUth for all” project, Mongolian Youth Council revived http://ivolunteer.mn/ platform in order to enhance volunteerism among young people.
