Do you know what problems young people face and how we can support them to shape a better world? Despite the fact that young people represent a third of Mongolia’s population, they face many challenges and are underrepresented in all sectors. Thanks to the support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, we have been training young Mongolians and helping them to become active members of society.

Best of 2021 in the Caritas Czech Republic in Mongolia

Looking back at the first two years of the pandemic, it has not only had negative impacts, but also some positive ones, such as making us more resilient. Teaching the new generation in Mongolia about recycling

The significant growth in environmental, economic, and social challenges presented by waste show that it is one of the top priorities to address in Mongolia. Although Mongolia has been developing policies and strategies to reduce and reuse waste, people, in general, are not accustomed to recycling. That is why the Caritas Czech Republic, together with partners, the Mongolian sustainable development bridge organized various kinds of training about waste management for the public and relevant stakeholders.

The issue of youth employment has become a center of discussion and concern for countries around the world. Mongolia is also facing this challenge. According to the National Statistic Office of Mongolia, 52% of youth between ages 15 and 34, which is 50% of the working-age population in Mongolia - are unemployed or experiencing working poverty. In contrast, employers state that there is a demand for young people in the labor market. What explains the disconnection?
